Art in St Ives

Following WW II, the small fishing town of St Ives was transformed into a vibrant, influential art colony of painters, sculptors and potters. The St Ives School of Painting refers to the artists who based themselves in St Ives during the early to mid 20th century. Most notable are Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth – whose work you can see in Tate St Ives.
